LOUISE E. WEILER       Dearly loved by her family      1925 ~ 2011

Louise Elizabeth Weiler, 85, passed gently into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday evening, October 21, 2011.  After struggling with Alzheimer's Disease for several years, she died in her home surrounded by her family.

Louise was born on November 14, 1925 and grew up on the Rouch family farm in Wayne County .  She was the daughter of Lisle E. and Emma Kauffman Rouch.   Louise graduated from Wooster High School in 1944.  She married Don W. Weiler on February 21, 1946.

Louise worked in the office of Central Farm Supply in Wooster from 1965 until her retirement in 1987.  After her retirement, she and Don spent many happy Summers fishing for Perch and Walleyes in Lake Erie . Louise and Don took many trips before and after her retirement, traveling throughout New England , Canada , Florida and Out West. They were also on two Caribbean Cruises and one to Alaska .

She was an accomplished pianist and played the piano and organ for over 50 years at Rowsburg Lutheran Church , where she was a long time faithful member.  She also played the piano for many years at Good Shepherd Home for their Sunday afternoon services.  Often, when visiting a friend or relative in any nursing home, she would find a piano and soon be surrounded by residents listening to her music.

Louise was a member of Lydia Circle (WELCA), Kinder Club, a former member of Eastern Star, and enjoyed being on a bowling league for many years.  She had been an Election Poll worker for Perry Twp. and when her children were young, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a 4-H Advisor.  For a lot of years Louise would take care of Humming Bird feeders and even cared for two of the baby birds that had fallen out of a nest.  On Summer evenings she could be found watching a Fast Pitch Softball game when her son, Frank, was pitching.  She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her loving family or friends.

Louise is survived by Don, her husband of 65 years, her son Frank of rural Ashland, daughter Cheryl (Tom) Pate of Rowsburg, twin daughters Emma Lou (Tom) Boylan of Willard and Donna Sue (Paul) Arnholt of Mansfield, one brother, William K (Jean) Rouch of Wooster, one sister-in-law, Bonnie Roller of Ashland, and many nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Adam (Stacie) Pate of Cleveland, Jessica (Brad) Martin of Crestview, FL, Susan Whitcum of Ashland and Lynda Arnholt of Mansfield .  She had two great-grandchildren, Karson Whitcum and Chase Martin and soon to be born, Riley Elizabeth Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Junior Rouch.

­­­­­­­­Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Rowsburg Lutheran Church , with Pastor Steven Caler officiating.  Friends may visited with the family one hour prior to the service.   Burial was in Rowsburg Cemetery .  Fickes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
