Lisa Marie
Egner
Sep 11, 1969 — Jul 27, 2026
Lisa Marie Gibbs Egner September 11, 1969 – July 27, 2026
Lisa Marie (Gibbs) Egner, 56, died early Monday, July 27th, 2026 at the James Cancer Center in Columbus following a sudden illness.
Born September 11th, 1969 to Robert W. and Karen J. (Schoonover) Gibbs, Lisa was a 1988 graduate of Hillsdale High School. Lisa followed in her father's footsteps after high school and worked at F. E. Myers/Pentair for about 10 years. She would later work for the Mansfield News Journal, Healthscope Benefits in New Albany, and finally at Avita Health System in Ontario.
On July 25th, 1998, Lisa met Matt Egner in a friend's driveway in Greenwich, Ohio. A story that she loved to tell again and again. They went out the following night and were inseparable ever since. They married on May 27, 2000 and made their home in Lexington. Lisa attended Grace Church in Ashland.
Lisa's ironclad work ethic was only superseded by her devotion to her friends and family. Her happy, upbeat personality made an impression on everyone she met. Lisa lived for family gatherings, road trips with her mom and sisters, and vacations all over the country with Matt, visiting 49 states together. Lisa especially loved the holidays and the annual "Christmas Light Trip" with Bruce & Sandy. Lisa was also an avid collector of Precious Moments figurines, a collection which she happily capped off with a stop at the factory store and chapel in Carthage, MO. More than that, Lisa loved her pet dachshunds and her two rescues.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Bob Gibbs, her sister, Lori Allenbaugh, and her in-laws, Arthur and Paula Egner. Surviving her is her husband Matt, her mother Karen of Hayesville, sisters Sandy (Bruce) Swaisgood of Polk and Susie (Mark) Hynek of Ashland, brothers-in law Steve Allenbaugh of Hayesville, Braden (Erica Long) Egner and Casey (Carrie) Egner of Shelby, sisters-in-law Cheryl (Bill) Gregory of Shelby, Anna (Brent) Smith of Ontario, Joan Egner of Ashland, and Kristen (Luis) Egner of Crestline, plus numerous nieces and nephews and her dogs Morty, Gabby, and Tikka.
