LeRoy C. Ramsey, 90, of Hayesville died on Saturday, August 15

at Brookwood Place in Ashland.  He was born on October 15, 1924

in Shelby to Silkirk and Mary Ann (Dailey) Ramsey. He was a 1942

graduate of Loudonville High School and lived nearly all of his life

in Ashland County.

He worked for National Seating in Mansfield, Curtiss Candy Company,

co-owned Correll -Ramsey Potato Chips in Loudonville, was a machinist

at Gorman-Rupp in Mansfield and Faultless Rubber in Ashland. After

21 years, he retired from Mansfield Tire and Rubber as a maintenance

supervisor in 1978 and Abbot Laboratories in 1989. He was a member of

the Ashland "Christians in Business" and the Abbott Retirees. He was a

carpenter, machinist, upholstered furniture, repaired automotives and

was an all around handy man who would help out whenever/wherever

he was needed and would seldom allow repayment. He was a wonderful

father, grandfather and great grandfather. He attended school and sports

functions of his grandchildren and showed true Christianity in all he did.

He was a member of the Hayesville United Methodist Church and taught

Sunday school there for many years. He was instrumental in the building

of the parsonage in 1974 and the renovation of the church in 1994.

He is survived by children Stephen (Toni Jo) Ramsey of New Marshfield,

Kathy (Terry) Pore of Shiloh, Diane (Ed) Daniher of Newark, David (Krista)

Ramsey of Cincinnati, sister Martha Mullet of Warsaw, brother-in-law

William (Dorothy) Craig of Shreve, sisters-in-law Mary Wise of Jeromesville,

Lois Yunker of Galion, numerous nieces and nephews and Phil and Cindy

Haskins of Hayesville.

11 Grandchildren: Liesel (Olivier) Diolosa, Maren (Kambiz) Razmi, Bryna

(Dieudonné) Ramsey, Rebecca (David) Alexander, Monica (Robert) Hartman,

Alicia (Tyler) Seaman, Nathan (Allegra) Daniher, Kate (Chase) White,

Lindsey Daniher and Andrew Klepper, Jessa Ramsey and Griffin Ramsey

16 great grandchildren: Juliette, Naomi and Kai Li Diolosa; Jared, Lucille

and Colleen Razmi; Emily and Lucy Alexander; Haley, Max, Desmond and

Harrison Hartman; Regan and Brooke Daniher; Elias and Nyla White; Henry

Seaman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Ethel Jane (Craig)

Ramsey whom he married on August 26, 1945, granddaughter Megan Ramsey,

brothers James and Chester Ramsey, sisters Catherine Long and Dorothy Ervin,

brothers-in law Charles Ervin and Arthur Mullett, and sister-in law Ruth Ramsey.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22 at 11:00 am at the

Hayesville United Methodist Church, 44 South Mechanic Street, Hayesville,

Ohio. Friends may call from 9:30-11:00 with the service immediately after.
