Armstrong
Feb 21, 1956 — Sep 4, 2025
Joseph Richard Armstrong left this world on September 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Ashland, OH.
Joseph was born February 21, 1956, in Ashland, OH to Wava Mae Stitzlein-Armstrong and Richard Harrison Armstrong. He grew up on his family farm just south of Hayesville, OH. Joey was a 1974 graduate of Hillsdale High School where he was an outstanding athlete and student. After high school he went onto attend ATI Ohio State in Wooster where he graduated in 1976 with a degree in agriculture.
On August 27, 1977, Joey married the love of his life Kathleen Marie Vincent, and they had two daughters. Joey remained married to his loving wife for 48 years until his passing. He was devoted father who taught his girls the value of hard work, devotion, love and maybe most importantly a love of sports.
For many years Joey played softball where he earned several golden glove awards. Joey was known for his skill at playing third base. He also enjoyed listening to music, his dogs, his friends and his family. Joey was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and the Cavs. But his favorite was Ohio State Buckeyes football. He rarely missed watching a game.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathi Armstrong, his children Angela Jo (Cory) Conner of Mifflin, OH and Corissa Nichole Frank of Mansfield, OH, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings Carol Gaines of Shreve, Susan Goard of Columbus, OH, Sharon (Will) Crider of Hayesville, OH, Ronald (Marlene) Armstrong of Hayesville, OH and Patricia Bailey of Mansfield, OH. Joey also came from a large extended family with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
