John Franklin Keener Jr., 66 of rural Ashland died Tuesday

October 1, 2013 at Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

He was born September 21, 1947 in Ashland the son of

John Franklin and Kathryn Hissong Keener Sr.  He was a

1965 graduate of Mapleton High School and a UPS driver

for 36 years.  John was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the

Vietnam Conflict and a member of the Ruggles Church were

he served as a Trustee.  He loved carpentry and was an

all round Mister Fix It man.  John loved to spend time with

his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Bradford Keener, to whom

he was married April 7, 1966, a daughter, Karla (Jeremy)

Roberts of Ashland, a son, John Franklin (Julie) Keener III

of Ashland, a grandson, Drew Roberts,

two brothers, Russel Keener and Duane (Donna) Keener

all of Ashland, and three sisters, Phylis (Ronald) Griggs,

Eleanor (Norm) Wynn, and Linda (Sam) Thomas, all of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Barb

Keener.

Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday October 5, 2013 at

Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Pastor Marty

Daly officiating.  Burial will be in Nankin Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday October 4, 2013 from 5-8 pm at

the funeral home.
