Jesse Finney Dodd, 47, of Loudonville, Ohio died Sunday July 29th, 2018 at 10:25 p.m.
He passed peacefully with his family by his bedside.
He was born Friday April 30, 1971, in Selma, Alabama, son of Ellen F. Dodd and late Crandle Belton
Dodd, Jr. He was most noted for his comical, joking mannerism. He never met a stranger anywhere
he went. He worked as Director of Food Services at Ashland County Correctional Facility.
He served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Curtis Dodd of Loudonville; Mother, Ellen F. Dodd of Birmingham,
Alabama; Mother(in law) Shirley Curtis of Ashland, Ohio; Sister, Bobbie Dodd Johnson of
Birmingham, Alabama; Sister, Crystal (Brandon) Dickerson of DeQueens, Arkansas; His favorite
Niece, Ashley Nicole (Denver) McCaig of Birmingham, Alabama; Nephews (Ashley), Soren, Archer,
and Ryder McCaig; Niece (Crystal), Allison; Nephew(Crystal), Lane; Maternal aunt Virginia (Charles)
mith; Cousin Christopher Smith all of Smithsfield,
Virginia. He has a host of family and friends in South Carolina, Iowa, and Selma, Alabama and various
other places and states.
He is preceded in death by father, Crandle B. Dodd, Jr; Maternal Grandparents, Major Henry F. and
Mary Finney of Newport News, Virginia; Paternal Grandparents Crandle B. Dodd, Sr of
Selma, Alabama; Lola Virginia Dodd of Enterprise, Alabama.
Funeral arrangements for Jesse will be as follows:
Calling hours for family and friends will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at the
corner of 89 and 1302, from 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday August 3rd, 2018.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. in the church with Pastor Jennifer Mellott-Darling and Pastor
Shaun Green officiating service with graveside to follow at Trinity Cemetery with the Ashland Honor
Guard conducting military rites.
In lieu of flowers, Jesse requested to make donations to the Trinity United Methodist Church 1301
State Route 89 Ashland, OH 44805.
