James E.
Dudte Sr.
Oct 20, 1948 — Sep 14, 2025
James E. Dudte, Sr., 76, of Ashland, OH, went peacefully to his eternal home on September 14, 2025. He was born in Ashland on October 20,1948 at Samaritan Hospital. He was the son of Kenneth and Mildred (Swaisgood) Dudte.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Donna Dudte and Shirley Curtis and his brother, Bob Dudte.
Jim is survived and missed by his loving wife Roseanna (Light) of almost 58 years and his son, Jim and wife Brenda Dudte, daughter Andrea Weibel and husband Seth, and daughter Jennie Boyer and husband David. He will also be missed by his seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn Moore, Ellen Trychel, Erika Ernsberger, Rachel Gott, Silas Weibel, Mason Weibel and Garrett Dudte and his 14 great-grandchildren.
Jim grew up in a house his father built and spent time milking cows on his uncle's farm. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1967. He loved nature, animals and finding mischief whenever he could. He also learned how to fix things along the way. If something was broken, Jim could fix it. This led him to National Latex where he worked his way to the maintenance foreman for 47 years. His kids loved this because they would get balloons for their birthday parties.
Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and adventure. He loved to ride his Honda Goldwing taking many trips out west by himself and his family enjoyed all the pictures he'd share when he got back.
