Obituary

Ian Gallion Atkinson, 20, passed away Wednesday July 22, 2026 as a result of a tragic farming


accident.


He was born July 7, 2006 in Dover, OH the son of Jeff Atkinson and Megan Gallion. He was a 2024


graduate of Hillsdale High School and a believer in Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ian was


regarded as a natural leader, who was a strategist, hard worker, organized, and know for his great sense


of humor. He loved to hunt, eat food and cook. Ian enjoyed building things, especially his 3D puzzles,


rollerskating and reading the Bible with his family. Ian loved the Lord, and his family, especially his


nephew, Hadley. His family was extremely proud of him for his hard work in starting his own


business, Atkinson Solutions, all by himself.


He is survived by his father, Jeff (Meghin) Atkinson of Ashland, his mother, Megan Atkinson-Black,


his sister, Audrey Atkinson of Dover, his brother, Owen Atkinson of Ashland, his paternal grandmother,


Clara Atkinson, his maternal grandmother, Robin (Jeff) Gallion-Heddleston and his maternal


grandfather, Terry (Delane) Gallion.


He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert William Atkinson.


Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday July 29, 2026 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with his


father Jeff Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville.


Friends may call from 10:00-1:00 pm before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.


Memorial contributions may be made to the family and left at the funeral home, for the family to make


a decision on where to donate the funds.
