Obituary

Homer Herman Luikart, 101 passed away Tuesday February 21, 2017 at his niece's home, Bonnie Hammond with his Hospice Care.  He was born June 1, 1915 in Sardis, Ohio the son of Herman and Alma (Winkler) Luikart.  Homer never married.
He worked at Goodyear in Akron and Flxible in Loudonville.  In 1968 he moved to Arizona to live with his niece Bonnie and family.  Homer enjoyed and loved bowling in Ohio with his deaf friends.  Then in Arizona he liked to go to the horse races and to the park to play cards with friends he met.  He also attended the Little League games of Bonnie's boys, Gary and Greg.  He enjoyed watching his teams in Ohio.  Ohio State football and Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and the Browns.  He loved Arizona.
He is survived by a brother, Melvin Luikart and a sister-in-law, Nancy Luikart, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Rosella Mottayaw, Verna Cervinski and Twila Luikart and two brothers, Arthur and Wallace Luikart.
Gravside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday March 4, 2017 at Jeromesville Cemetery with Pastor Layton Broome officiating.  There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers remembrances in Homer's name may be given to, Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014.
