Harriett Elizabeth Savick, 94 formerly of Red Haw
died Friday May 15, 2015 at Crystal Care Nursing
Home. She was born August 27, 1920 in Ashland
the daughter of Clayton and Josephine Shukers Smith.
She had worked at Eagle Rubber, Ashland Rubber
and Myers Laundry. She was a member of the Brooklyn Missionary Church and attended
Red Haw United Methodist Church. Harriett was a member of the West Salem Senior
citizens, West Salem Fifty Plus, Jackson Busy Bee's Homemakers for over 20 years and the
Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary 2178. Harriett was a member of the Ashland County
Homemaker Council where she was in charge of Cultural Arts for several years and won
numerous Blue Ribbons for crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Hoffman of West Salem and Sharon Sue Saffle of
Ashland, a son, Edward (Earline)Savick Jr. of Lucas, 17 grandchildren, 38 great
grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren, a brother, William Wayne Smith of Wooster
and a sister-in-law, Julia Ann Smith of Wooster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward William Savick Sr. to whom
she married January 17, 1938 and celebrated 50 years of marriage on January 17, 1988, 2
sons-in-law, Franklin Hoffman and Roger Saffle, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 3 sisters,
Elearnor (Sis) Giunto, Beatrice Bowersock and Rosalie Leighliter, and two brothers, Albert
(Jim) Smith and Clayton Smith Jr.
Services will be 2:30 PM Thursday May 21, 2015 at Red Haw United Methodist Church with
Layton Broome and Shaun Green officiating. Burial will be in Red Haw Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday May 20, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Fickes Funeral Home in
Jeromesville or one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

44805 or to Red Haw United Methodist Church.
