Emma Jane Maxwell, 95 of Wooster, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014

at Wooster Community Hospital.

She was born May 30, 1919 in Wayne Co. to Walter and Bertha (Herpel) Buchholz.

She married Edward W. Maxwell on October 31, 1938, in Rochester, New York.  He

preceded her in death on December 3, 2005.

Emma will be deeply missed by her five children.  Joyceann (Keith) Dreibelbis and

Relda Smith of Wooster, Jean Schmid and Bill Maxwell of Jeromesville, and Mary

Ellen (Mike) Hickman of Norman, Oklahoma.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren,

12 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Adrian Buchholz of Mansfield, 3 sisters, Janet Kramarz

of Chesterland, Polly Dodenhoff of Wooster, and Doris Heath of Naples, Florida.  In

addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter,

1 brother, Carl Buchholz, and 3 sisters, Virginia Buchholz, Catherine Guenther, and

Mary Ann Hamm.

Mrs. Maxwell was a great seamstress.  She enjoyed sewing and knitting for her

children and grandchildren.  She had worked at Fabrics Unlimited for several years, and

had volunteered at Friendtique in Wooster.  She belonged to a garden club for many

years as well as being a lifetime member of the Legion Auxillary in Jeromesville.  She enjoyed

bowling, playing solitaire, crossword puzzles, and her cats!  For many years, she and

her husband, Ed, enjoyed providing pony rides at county fairs.  Emma attended the

Mohicanville Community Church in Loudonville.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Fickes Funeral Home

in Jeromesville with Pastor Greg Rowan officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the

service.  Interment will be at Reedsburg Cemetery.
