Obituary

Elsie L. Cook, 83 of Perrysville, passed away Friday morning at her daughter's home.

She was born July 30, 1931 in Murray City the daughter of Leonard V. Koenig and

Freda Simmers Koenig.

She worked at the Ashland Board of Elections for many years.  After retirement she

enjoyed traveling and took several trips with her daughter.  At home she loved spending

time on the farm with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed making greeting cards on her

computer to send to family and friends.  In the evening she could always be found

knitting dish clothes or doing a counted cross stitch project.  Elsie was also a member

of Ashland County's Genealogical Society Chapter and had traced her family tree back

to First Families of Ashland County.  She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran

Church.

She was married June 4, 1950 to Elton L. Cook for 49 years before he passed away on

April 13, 1999.  She was proceeded in death by her sister, Ruth Browning and son, Paul Cook.

Elsie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Karen Cook of Ashland,

John and Carolyn Cook of Perrysville and daughter Freda Cook of Perrysville.  She had

six special grandchildren, Rusty (Melinda), Dustin (Danielle), Joshua, Tiffany (fiancé Eric),

Shane Cook and Rett (Ashley) Myers.  She had 3 great grandchildren, Justin Bailey, Carmen

and Evan Myers, one brother, Leonard (Shirley) Koenig and several loving nieces and

nephews.  Her best friend of 70 years Minerva (Larry) Robinson of Columbus.

In honor of her wishes, graveside services at Hayesville-Vermillion Cemetery will be held

July 3rd at 2:00 pm for the family by the Rev. Karen Liddy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions may be sent to Ohio Health Hospice,

335 Glessner Ave., Mansfield, OH 44903 or Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1360

Smith Road, Ashland, OH 44805.

Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
