Elizabeth (Betty) Annabelle Hange passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 15, 2018 at University Hospital, Ashland, OH. Born February 29, 1920 near Jeromesville, she was the daughter of Hazel (Ingmand) and Harry Bowers. She married Harold Hange on March 23, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1993. Betty graduated from Ashland High School in 1938 and attended Ashland University before teaching private kindergarten for several years. She was later employed at A. L. Garber Company.

Betty was very active in community clubs and organizations including several garden clubs, Golden Serenaders, line dancing group, knitting cluband was past president of Jeromesville Methodist women's group where she also sang in the choir. She enjoyed entering canned goods, antiques and flower arrangements in the Ashland County Fair. When her children were young she was active in Jeromesville PTO and was also a den mother for Cub Scout troop 511. She always attended her children's school/sports events.
She is survived by 5 children: Phillip (Marie), Mohicanville, Don (Ann),Defiance, Richard, Mansfield, Melinda (Larry) Briggs, Ashland, and Stacy (Debbie), Jeromesville, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation for Betty will be held Friday night from 5-7PM at Fickes Funeral Home with the funeral service to be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 23rd at Jeromesville Methodist Church with Pastor Sue Chidley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the church at 40 North Street, Jeromesville, Ohio 44840 or the donor's choice.
