Earl Ronald Van Gilder, 78 passed away September 20, 2012 at Good

Shepherd Nursing Home.  He was born on December 17, 1933 to

G. Earl and Jane Latimer Van Gilder in Vermillion Twp., Ashland

County.  Earl graduated from Hayesville High School in 1951 and

Mansfield Business College in 1952.  He served in the U.S. Army from

1954-1956 serving in California 68th AAA Battalion in Korea.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law David Warnes.

He is survived by five children and thirteen grandchildren and two great

grandchildren.  Rhonda (Tom) Forbes of Perrysville; Rochelle (Fred)

Carpenter of Ashland; Renee Warnes of Nankin; Steve (Laurie) of Jeromesville;

and Rob (Julie) of Eureka, Montana.  Also surviving are a brother-in-law,

Don (Sonya) Bender; sister-in-law, Diane Biddinger; good friend, Ron Simmons

and a special cousin, Alice Herschler; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ron was a member of the American Legion Post #88 in Ashland and Ashland

Eagles #2178.

Private family services will be 11:00 AM Monday September 24, 2012 in

Vermillion Cemetery with the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard conducting

military services.  There will be no calling hours.

Ashland, OH 44805.
