Obituary

Otis Earl Hawkins, 100 died Thursday

April 23, 2015 at Brookdale Senior

Living in Wooster.  He was born

March 2, 1915 in Braxton Co., West

Virginia the son of George Everett and

Dallie Moyers Hawkins.

Earl was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he earned the Purple Heart, the

Bronze Star and the Silver Star and along with his wife, Betty went on to become

owner/operators of Hawkins Markets Inc.

Mr. Hawkins was a member of Ebeneezer Lodge 33 in Wooster and Al Koran Shrine

and Jesters in Cleveland.  Earl was a member of Grace Brethren Church of Wooster.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda (Jim) Plunkett of Seminole, Florida, Carol (Greg)

Webb of Wooster and Nancy Skinner of Goodard, Kansas, 4 grandchildren, April

(Christopher) Pesicek of Wooster, Christine (Clete) Schafrath of Pickerington, Ian (Savannah)

Murray of Yulee, Florida and Brian Murray of Jacksonville, Florida, 3 great grandchildren,

Alexis Pesicek, Noah Schafrath and Benjamin Schafrath, 2 sisters, Dell Pfalzgraf of Wooster

and Gay Moutoux of Wooster and a brother, Ray Hawkins of Sutton, West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Myers Hawkins in May 2011, three brothers,

Clen, Harvey  and Guy Hawkins and two sisters, May Wimer and Mary Lea Hawkins

Services will be 2:30 PM Tuesday April 28, 2015 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with

Pastor Robert Fetterhoff officiating.

Private burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park.  Friends may call from 1:00-2:30 PM at the

funeral home prior to the service on Tuesday.

Earl had made his home the past months at Brookdale Place of Wooster.  The family is

grateful for the kind and loving care of the Brookdale Staff and Hospice of Wayne Co.
