Earl Jr. Gault, 89 of Ashland died Friday
March 1, 2013 at his residence. He was
born September 3, 1923 in Ashland, Ohio.
Earl was the son of Wilmer Earl and Anna
Marken Gault.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he
served in the 736th Tank Battalion and received the Purple Heart.
Earl worked at Ohio Brass in Mansfield, Ohio and retired after 38 years.
He was a Mason and belonged to Ashland Masonic Lodge #151 F&AM for over 50 years.
He was also a lifetime member of Paradise Hill United Methodist Church.
Earl enjoyed life doing many of his household repairs himself, woodworking,
gardening, traveling to Florida in the Spring with Lavonne, and helping his family.
He was active in volunteering at church with the Trustees Ministry along with VFW,
and Imhoff Cemetery.
Earl is survived by 3 daughters and one son, Diane and Bill Morris of Ashland,
Rebecca Jones of Ashland, Greg and Becky Gault of Greenville, N.C. Ellen and Jeff
Flath of Warwick, RI.
He is survived 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He has two sisters, Opal
Aten of Ashland and Harriett Dickinson of Ashland.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Lavonne Hartman Gault on October 10, 2011,
his parents Wilbur and Anna, brother Wade Gault and sister Cleo Cripe, and a
granddaughter, Holly Jo Hipp.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at Paradise Hill United
Methodist Church with Pastor Janet Chilcote officiating. Burial will follow at Imhoff
Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday
from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
