Douglas Allen McDaniel, 71 of Ashland passed away Wednesday August 5, 2026. He was born April

25, 1955 in Ashland the son of William and Donna Rowland McDaniel.

Doug graduated from Ashland High School in 1974. He was an exceptional athlete and went on to be a

great baseball and softball coach. Doug was a concrete finisher for 44 years, ending his career with

Amcrete Concrete Construction. He loved the outdoors and has been working a small farm raising beef

cattle and market rabbits for 4-H projects. Most of all he loved his family and cherished making

memories with all of them, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Keiffer McDaniel to whom he was married June 23, 1990, his

children, Steven (Amanda) McDaniel, Billy (Courtney) McDaniel and Casey (Dylan) Campbell, his

grandchildren, Landen, Jaxson, Nora and Lainey, his mother, Donna McDaniel and a sister, Cheryl

(Glenn) Troth.

He was preceded in death by his father, William McDaniel, a brother, Rick McDaniel and a nephew,

Andy McDaniel.

There will be a memorial service and remembrance day held at a later date.

Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
