Dempsy Daniel Becker (known to many as D.D. Becker), 91, of Wooster, went to be with his Lord and Savior July 24th, 2012, surrounded by his family. He passed away at Akron General Hospital due to injuries resulting from a fall on Sunday. He was born to Daniel and Myrtle Becker, and married Betty Harned June 4th, 1950. They recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary.

Dempsy was small in stature, but a giant to those who loved him. He did many things in his life; gifted auctioneer, livestock dealer, and was well known among the Amish for buying and selling horses. He never found a task that was too physically difficult, and up to his final days he continued to meet those challenges head on.

He is the father of Dan (Cheryl) Becker, Richard (Becky) Benninger, Joyce (Jeff) Grant of Wooster, Jane (Nick) Biniker of Toledo, and Dave (Cheryl) Becker of Lakeville. He was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and one was his namesake. Dempsy enjoyed having his family and friends stop by, and was always up for sharing his lifetime of unique experiences.

Calling hours will be Thursday, July 26th, 5-8 PM, and the service will be Friday, July 27th, at 11 AM, both held at Church of the Savior. Fickes Funeral Home will be taking care of the arrangements.
