Dale Arthur Echelberger, 78 of Hayesville died Monday September 16, 2013 at his residence.  He was born January 20, 1935 in Ashland Co. the son of Frank Clifton (Cliff) and Thelma Irene Hout Echelberger. He was lifetime member of the military, serving in the U.S. Air Force for 38 ½ years.  Dale served on the Hillsdale School Board for 16 years as well as the JVS School Board and Tri-County ESC.  He was a charter member, former commander, finance officer and trustee of the Hayesville Amvets and past regional director NCO graduates association. He is survived by his wife, Miriam Joy Wallace Echelberger, a daughter, Vickie King of Columbus, a son, Jeffery Echelberger of Hayesville, two grandchildren, Kristy (Matthew) Scalesi and Brandon (Katie) King, two great grandchildren, and two brothers, Richard (Jo) Echelberger of Butler and Darrell (Becky) Echelberger of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his 1st wife, Florence L. Krebs Echelberger on September 12, 2000. Services will be 11:00 AM Friday September 20, 2013 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Chaplain Major David W. Shirley officiating.  Burial will be in Vermillion Cemetery where military rites will be conducted.
