Curtis Leroy Smith, 93 of Hayesville passed away December 6, 2021 at OhioHealth

Mansfield Hospital. He was born May 11, 1928 in Holmes County the son of Curtis

and Yula Neal Smith.

He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and an electronics teacher at

Mansfield Senior High School.

Curt was an avid car collector, his favorite car being his 1935 Auburn and also

enjoyed mushroom hunting in Michigan.

He is survived by his companion, Carol Dropsey, a son, Mark Smith of Mansfield, 2 step

grandchildren, Sherry (Eric) Workman of Shelby and Jennifer (significant other, Greg Hall) Brady of

Ontario and 9 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Eileen Obrecht Smith, a son Emerson Smith and a

step great grandson, Bryan Moore.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday December 13, 2021 at Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville

with Pastor Layton Broome officiating. The Ashland Honor Guard will conduct military rites.

There will be no calling hours.
