Clayton Earl “Clete” Krichbaum

On Sunday, October 4th 2026, Clayton peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus his Lord and Savior.

He was born on May 16th, 1941, to William Arthur “Bill” Krichbaum and Lucy Marie (Anderson) Krichbaum in Ashland County.

Clayton graduated from Jeromesville High School in 1959. On January 27th, 1963, Clayton married the love of his life, Phyllis

Joan “Jo” (Priest) and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Clayton was a lifetime member of the Mohicanville Community 

Church where he served in many positions including church board president, choir member, and most recent as official 

greeter.

He is survived by his wife “Jo”, daughters Susan Glass of Loudonville, Ann (John) Cutlip of Ashland, Robin (Doug) Griffith of 

Wooster; Daughter-in-Law Carla Krichbaum; Grandchildren Brandon (Julie) Glass, Mariah (Andrew) Kashuba, Jackie (Kevin) 

Lawson, Abigale (Alex) Uhase, Allen Griffith, CJ Krichbaum, Caitlin Griffith (Casey Meade), Allison (Logan) Hensel, and 

Alexis Griffith; and nieces and nephews. Great-grandchildren Brantley, Sophia, Macie, Ryder, Lucas & Palmer.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Allen Krichbaum, his parents and brother Gary Lee Krichbaum.

Services will be held Thursday October 8th, 2026, at Mohicanville Community Church with calling hours from 1pm to 3pm 

with funeral services immediately after.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church or to a charity of ones choice.
