Carrie C. Smith Brookover, 98, died Friday April 22, 2016 at The Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
She was born September 9, 1917 in Ashland County, the daughter of Thurman and Ethel Newman Smith.
Carrie was a member of the Columbus Bible Students.  She was a past member of the Jeromesville Trinity Lutheran Church where she served on various committees and was a Sunday School teacher.
She loved studying the Bible and she had traveled to Israel two times.  She also enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Mike) Obrecht of Jeromesville and Joan (Russ) Chapman of Ashland; one granddaughter Michele (Joe) Hilleary of Grove City and two grandsons, Randy Chapman of Jeromesville and Kyle Chapman of Norcross, GA., and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Brookover, a son, Kenneth Brookover, a sister, Marcella Heifner and three brothers, Virgil, Harold and T.W. Smith.
A memorial services will be held Friday April 29, 2016, 11:00 AM at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Pastor Julie Thoms officiating.  Calling hours will be one hour before the service.  Burial will be in Jeromesville Cemetery.
