Carolyn Louise
Seaman
Jun 21, 1921 — Jan 2, 2014
Carolyn Louise Seaman, daughter of John L. and Helen S. Parker, went to be with the
Lord Thursday, January 2, at MedCentral Mansfield after a brief illness. She is
survived by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Robert J. Seaman of Jeromesville; her
brother, Dr. John S. Parker of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; her sister, Joan Kunz of
Trafford, Pennsylvania; her children, Dale (Jane) Seaman of Porterville, California;
Janice (Michael) Berbin of Papua New Guinea; Steve Seaman of Perrysville; Gary
(Debbie) Seaman of Gray, Tennessee; and Jeanne (Robert) Vincent of Greenville,
South Carolina; fourteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Seaman asked Christ to forgive her sins and give
her new life at the age of 18. She graduated from Bob Jones University in May, 1951
and married Bob August 4th of that year. Carolyn dearly loved her husband and was
an invaluable help to him in his 55 years serving as a pastor. Serving those in their
churches, teaching Sunday school classes, and playing the piano and organ were
ways she ministered. Carolyn loved and memorized the Scriptures. Until her recent
illness she and Bob worked with the youth of their church, Loudonville Baptist
Temple. Carolyn was a loving, selfless, hardworking mother who sewed, gardened,
canned and froze produce for her family, helped her children with their schoolwork,
and modeled what a Christian mother should be. For many years the truth of
Proverbs chapter 30, verse 28 has been evident in her life: "Her children arise up, and
call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Carolyn delighted in her 14
grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter and faithfully prayed for each of them.
She cherished any opportunity that she had to spend time with them.
