Carl Edward Light, 85 of Ashland died Friday June 12, 2015
at Brethren Care Nursing Home. He was born October 27,
1929 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky the son of Carl S. and
Malissanna Barlow Light. Carl worked at Hydromatic
Pump for 36 years and had been a
member of the Ashland Church of the Nazarene, where
he was a song leader and member of the choir. He was the senior
fair king at the 2012 Ashland County Fair and loved all sports, especially
OSU Buckeye football and Kentucky Wildcat basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Joyce Riedel Light, to whom he was
married June 17,1983, a daughter, Roseanna (Jim) Dudte of Polk, three
sons, Stewart (Karen) Light of Ashland, Steven Light of Mansfield and
C. Paul (Barbara) Light of Wadsworth, two step-daughters, Karen Streng
of Ashland, and Lori Fakult of Galion, two step-sons, Micheal Zeigler of
McArthur and Rodney Zeigler of Bloomville, 8 grandchildren, Jim (Brenda)
Dudte,Jr., Andrea (Seth) Weibel, Jennie (David) Boyer, Shane (Kendra)
Light, Tara (Chris) Mowry, Madison Light, Rhyan Light and Anberlin Gess,
11 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter, many step
grandchildren and great grandchildren, three sisters, Maxine Swaisgood of
Polk, Judy Browne of Kentucky and Joye Green of Kentucky and a brother,
Mitchell Light of Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife, Helen Light on
February 16, 1982, a sister, Zerina Shopbell, a brother, John B. Light,
a step-daughter and a step granddaughter.
Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday June 18, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist
Church with Pastor Ivan Beatty and Pastor Shaun Green officiating. Burial
will be in Rowsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday June 17, 2015 from 5-8 pm at Fickes Funeral
Home in Jeromesville.
