Obituary

Bonnie Grace Funk, 82 of 3311 Bayberry Cove Wooster

and formerly of Miamiville, OH died Tuesday October 22, 2013.

She was born January 31, 1931 in Coshocton Co. Ohio the

daughter of Alonzo Moses and Mary Catherine

(Schoonmaker) Steele.  She married Hal Funk on September 28,

1952 and were married 53 years.  Hal preceded her in death

on June 23, 2005.

She was a graduate of Ohio State University and taught elementary

school for 34 years retiring from Cincinnati Public Schools in 1988

after 26 years.  Bonnie didn't have any biological children but she

molded the lives of many.  Bonnie was a lifetime member

of Hamilton Co. Retired Teachers and Ohio Retired

Teachers Association and was a Presbyterian by faith.

Bonnie was a sweet spirit and friend to all she met.

Hal was the love of her life, as well as family and friends.

She is survived by a brother, Francis (Betty) Steele of

Wooster, a sister-in-law, Gloria Leidigh of Seattle, WA,

nieces and nephews, Donna Barnes of Wooster, Howard

Barnes of Wooster, Jerry (Sandy) Barnes of Lodi, Jack

(Connie) Barnes of Burbank, Michael (Teri) Tennent of

Florida, Shawn Burt of Byesville, Jodi Roberts of Byesville,

James (Moira) Funk of TN, Bonnie Laugendorf, NY, Tim

Steele of Lakeville, Robert (Catherine) Stewart, Lonnie

(Pearl) Stewart, Nancy (Rodney) Bain and Morris (Meyeh)

Stewart, many great and great-great nieces

and nephews and special friends in Cincinnati, where Hal

and Bonnie resided for over 50 years, Barbara Romans,

Lucille Bugge, Carl and Nan Grome, David and Melissa Fossier

Dean and Anne Roessner, Jim Palmer and Nancy Applegate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters,

Margaret Ann Steele, Hazel Stewart, Anne Langendorf, Mina

Burt, Jennie Alberta Barnes, and nephews, Bruce Stewart,

Bill Baker and Rick Barnes.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday October 26, 2013

at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Pastor

Randy K'Meyer officiating.  Burial will be in Reedsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
