Bonita Grace Heifner McNaull died on April 18 at home.

She celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage to John McNaull

who preceded her in passing on Feb. 2, 2012.  Bonita is survived

by her loving children and their spouses, all of Ashland:

Tom and Mary McNaull, Melanie and Steve Huber, Mike and

Cindy McNaull, and Dan and Debbie McNaull.

In addition, Bonita had eight wonderful grandchildren:  Philip and

Patrick McNaull, Margie (Craig) Belair and Sarah (Lance) LeVeck, Michelle (Tony)

Bunt and Rebecca (Chris) Stoffer, and Christy (Scott) Conrath and Kelly McNaull.  In

addition, she is survived by four great-grandchildren, Myles and Kara Bunt, Hudson

and Crosby Belair and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born September 4, 1921 to Bia and Mabel Viola (Vesper) Heifner, she lived her entire

life in the Ashland area.  She had very fond memories of her elementary education

and riding the horsedrawn "kiddie wagon" to Mifflin School.  Bonita graduated from

Ashland High School in 1940.  While John served in the army during WWII, Bonita

worked at The Farmer's Bank of Ashland, and later Hess and Clark.  She then became

primarily an at-home mom cooking, sewing, freezing, and canning for her growing

family while crafting beautiful custom-made draperies.  In 1966, she and John, along

with his sister Vera and her husband Eldon Crone, purchased Ashland Implement,

where she managed accounting and finances before her retirement in 1986.

Bonita was the last survivor of her siblings and their spouses:  Mabel (Arthur)

Carpenter, Milton (Marcella) Heifner, Mildred (Kenneth) Fish, Cleo (Pete) Feasel, and

Wilma (Joe) Pinkley.   She is survived by John's sister and brother:  Esther (Bernard)

Queneau and Cloyd (Mary Ann) McNaull.

Very active in a variety of organizations, Bonita held many leadership offices.  Her

first priority was always the Ashland Dickey Church of the Brethren where she served

in a myriad of ways which included deaconess, treasurer, Sunday School teacher,

Women's Fellowship member, and Vacation Bible School song leader.  In the

community she served as an officer for the Montgomery PTA, leader of the girls'

Lucky Leaf 4-H Club, a proud, active member of the Sarah Copus Chapter of the

Daughters of the American Revolution, and an election poll worker.  She

enthusiastically supported John in his endeavors as antique farm equipment collector,

active member of the 12th Armored Division Association, and board member of the

Ashland County Historical Society.  Bonita was a frequent participant in the Ashland

County Fair where she won numerous ribbons for sewing, baking, and her salt dip

collection.

Visiting hours will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 and one hour

preceding the funeral at Ashland Dickey Church of the Brethren.  Funeral services

will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the church with the Pastor

Tom Zuercher officiating.  Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

In honor of Bonita, the family suggests donations be made to the Ashland Dickey

Church building fund, or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
