Barbara Ellen Hixson Age 75 unexpectedly went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday September 23, 2020.

She was born on July 12, 1945 at the Ft. Myers, FL Air Force base to Thomas McCollum and Ellen (McCollum) Schag.

She is survived by her parents, loving husband of 52 years William Hixson, daughter Wendy (Myron) Swartzentruber,

grandsons Trevor Goody and Bryce Goody, step-grandchildren Chelsie Swartzentruber & Tyler (Brianna) Swartzentruber,

a brother Gary (Lori) McCollum.

They made their home of 47 years near Jeromesville and developed many lifelong friendships and attended the United

Methodist Church of Jeromesville for over 40 years. She was a Sunday School teacher, member of the sewing club,

served on various committees, including fair pies. She was a member of the first graduating class of Triway High School.

She worked at the Wooster Brush and then opened her own beauty shop in her home. Barb met Bill, the love of her life,

and the two were married in 1968. They enjoyed many years of camping with friends, her other hobbies included

scrapbooking and crafting. Barb loved her family unconditionally and without measure. She always made you feel

welcome and loved, but most of all her grandsons Trevor, Bryce and her puppy Tootles. Her warm smile will be

missed by all that knew her. Services will be 11:00 AM Monday September 28, 2020 at the Jeromesville United

Methodist Church with Pastor Sue Chidley officiating. Burial will be in Reedsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday September 27, 2020 from 5-7 pm at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville.
