Robert (Bob) Leroy Newton Jr. 90 of Ashland

died Thursday February 8, 2018 at his

residence. He was born September 19, 1927

in Findlay the son of Robert L and Jeannette

Ewers Newton.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and worked at Columbia Gas for 30 years.

He was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Hayesville for 45 years serving as a Deacon

under all pastors, a Sunday School teacher, Children’s Church director, camp counselor and for 10

years led a bible study at Heartland Home.

He is survived by two step-sons, David (Louise) Winger of Ashland and Larry (Sally) Winger of Utah,

17 step grandchildren, numerous step great and great great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Mike (Joan)

Dudte and three sisters-in-law, Barbara (Bill) Abel, Gloria Cook and Mary Lou Dudte.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Eula Dudte Newton on May 21, 2014, a step-

grandson, Larry Winger Jr. and brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Mildred Dudte, Carl Dudte,

Norman Dudte and John Dudte.

Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday February13, 2018 at Maranatha Baptist Church with Pastor Todd

Grover officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park where the Ashland Veterans Color

Guard will conduct military rites.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
