Mabel “Joyce” Pringle, of Hayesville, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 16, surrounded by her devoted husband of 68 years and her loving family.
She was born September 16, 1930 in Holmes County to Howard Johnson Smith and Ida Isophene Leeper Smith. She graduated from Big Prairie High School in 1948.
She married Melvin Andrew Pringle on March 20, 1949 in Loudonville who survives. She is also survived by her children Barry Pringle, Hayesville; Sue (Roy) Smith, Hammond IN; Betsy Lavinder, Loudonville, OH; Roger (Lisa) Pringle, Wallowa, OR; Brenda (Les) Knaak, Wichita, KS; a daughter-in-law, Linda Pringle of Indiana, 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren and many caring nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Richard Pringle; 4 grandchildren; her parents, Howard and Ida; brothers – Orvin Smith, Otis Smith, Carl Smith, Dean Smith, Walter Smith, Ralph Smith and sister- Dorothy Scott, several nieces and nephews.
Joyce had worked at Cresco Mfg until it closed in 1982 and TLC Kanvas until she retired in 2010. She was a member of Ashland Baptist Temple. She loved spending time with her family, family reunions and her church family.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday October 19, 2017 at Ashland Baptist Temple, 1023 Elm Street, Ashland, OH with Pastor Troy Sage. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Hayesville Vermillion Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ashland Baptist Temple in lieu of flowers. Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville will be of service to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.fickesfuneralhome.com.
